Antique Snowmobile Rendezvous set Jan. 18-20 in Pequot Lakes

The 19th annual Antique Snowmobile Rendezvous will feature a trail ride, show, races and swap meet Friday-Sunday, Jan. 18-20, in Pequot Lakes.

The annual event is hosted by the Pequot Brush Pilots Snowmobile Club.

Activities will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, with a trail ride for all old and new sleds on the Paul Bunyan Trail from the welcome center parking lot to the Timberjack Smokehouse. Participants will return to Pequot Lakes for a campfire cookout.

Social hour will run from 5-8 p.m. at the Pequot Lakes American Legion.

Following are Saturday, Jan. 19, events. Admission is free to all spectators.

9 a.m.-noon: Registration at the American Legion.

1 p.m.: Drag, oval, reverse oval and obstacle rallies and a vintage snowmobile show.

Registration cost is $20 (refundable with return of bib) and bib fee for the rally. There is no charge to participate in the antique and vintage Show.

Because of safety concerns, only 1966 and older sleds may race. All others are invited to the trail ride and show. Judges will use ASCOA formula to determine winners. Concessions will be provided.

6 p.m.: Social hour, dinner, style show and awards ceremony at the Pequot Lakes American Legion.

There will be guest speakers and awards for rally winners, oldest operational machine, best original antique, best restored antique, Cutter Class/People’s Choice Award, Rat Sled (must run), best original/restored vintage machine (1969 or newer) and best costume. And Antique & Vintage Snowmobile Style Show will be held.

Events Sunday, Jan. 20, include:

8 a.m.-1 p.m.: Omelette breakfast at the Legion that is open to the public.

The event is sponsored by the Pequot Brush Pilots, Ideal Sno Pros and American Legion.
