The Crosslake City Council named city clerk/treasurer Jennifer Max as interim city administrator following Tom Swenson’s resignation from the position Dec. 10; however, the council didn’t determine any additional compensation Max should receive for carrying out the extra duties.

That was remedied at a year-end council meeting Thursday, Dec. 27. The council passed a resolution of understanding stating that Max will receive an additional $1,200 a month on top of her current salary of $4,579 per month while she is interim city administrator.

The resolution also states that if the council decides to permanently expand the job description of the clerk/treasurer to include city administrator duties, Max’s rate of pay and benefit package will be renegotiated.

The council agreed to reinstate Max as city clerk/treasurer if the council chooses not to combine the clerk/treasurer and city administrator positions.

In other business De. 27, the council:

• Paid end-of-the-year bills.

• Reviewed year-end fund transfers.

• Approved an agreement with Crow Wing County for prosecution services.
