Central Lakes Rotary Club welcomes new member

Beth Johnson was inducted as a new member to the Central Lakes Rotary Club at the club’s Holiday Gala in December for club members and their guests.

Johnson is employed at US Bank in Pine River, and her membership into Rotary was proposed by Central Lakes Rotarian Dick Teegen. Central Lakes President Bob McLean conducted the induction ceremony.

Other guests at the Holiday Gala were Allen Johnson of Heritage Group North and Mark Liedl, father of Henry Liedl, who is the club’s Youth Exchange Outbound Student in Brazil.

The club recently completed its “Letter from Santa” project and will make contributions to the food shelves in Pine River, Pequot Lakes and Crosslake in early March.

The club also bought four Sawyer water filters in cooperation with the Puerto Vallarta Rotary Club in Mexico, which will help supply clean drinking water to remote villages.

Central Lakes Rotary meets at 7:15 a.m. Tuesdays at Brenny Reception Room for its weekly breakfast meeting and program. For more information about Central Lakes Rotary, visit or contact Diane Collins at 218-568-6027.
