Ice Fest is Jan. 4-5 in Breezy Point

The 18th annual Ice Fest on Pelican Lake in Breezy Point will be held Friday-Saturday, Jan. 4-5.

Following is a schedule of events:

Friday, Jan. 4

All day: Blinkie Buttons available for $5.

7 p.m.: Bonfire (Pelican Lake Bay).

8 p.m.: Live entertainment at local establishments, including Commander Bar (Vintage Raggs), Billy’s Bar and Grill (Ice Fest Kick off party, Blind Luck 9 p.m.) and Dockside (Mostly Water).

Saturday, Jan. 5

All day: Blinkie Button specials and bonfire on shore of Pelican Lake; dogsled rides by Wolf Moon Kennel and Dogsled for $5 per person; concession stand; Ice Slide (on shore of Pelican Lake); and new product display.

7 a.m.-4 p.m.: Pancake Breakfast (Pelican Lake Conservation Club).

9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Pond Hockey 4-on-4 Tournament (register by Jan. 2, 2013).

9 a.m.-6 p.m.: Vendor craft fair (Lakeside Room of the Marina II at Breezy Point Resort).

9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Kids fishing program/Minnaqua (ice fishing and winter safety, Minnesota fishing regulations, make ice fishing jiggle sticks and Minnesota fish ID).

10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Snowmobile radar run.

10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Snow golf.

Noon-4 p.m.: Power Ice Auger World Championships Competition.

1 p.m.: Figure skating demonstrations by Breezy Point Figure Skating Club.

1-5 p.m.: Horse-drawn trolley rides.

6:55 p.m.: Presentation of the Colors by American Legion Post 49.

7 p.m.: Fireworks.

8 p.m.: Live entertainment and specials at local establishments, including Commander Bar (Vintage Raggs & Bikini Contest), JJ’s (Mark Stary & Bar Bingo), Billy’s Bar and Grill (giving away trip for two to Hawaii) and Dockside (Mostly Water).
