Crow Wing County employees contribute more than $18,000 to United Way
Crow Wing County employees recently finished their annual United Way employee campaign and contributed more than $18,000 to United Way of Crow Wing & Southern Cass Counties through payroll deductions throughout 2013.
This year’s campaign theme was: “Community Matters: Making a Difference ... Together!”
“It’s really very important, especially as a public organization, for us to give back to the community that so richly blesses us with the opportunity to serve,” said county administrator Tim Houle. “I am very proud of the county’s employees for stepping up to the plate at precisely the time when the services of United Way funded agencies are most needed within the community. Moreover, this isn’t the only philanthropic efforts employees support. We also have some who closely support the Relay for Life, the food shelf and other charities throughout the year as well.
“County employees have a big heart, not just for those we serve, but also for the well-being of the entire community. They’re really a very special group of people,” Houle said.
