City looking into raising quarterly sewer rate
The city’s Wastewater Committee has discussed raising sewer rates $20 per quarter effective in 2013 to help the sewer fund break even rather than end each year in the red.
The Lake Shore City Council on Monday, Nov. 26, agreed to take action on the proposed fee increase in December with plans to notify customers in advance.
Mount Ski Gull
The police department donated a Polaris snowmobile, trailer and rescue sled it doesn’t need anymore to Mount Ski Gull’s Ski Patrol after hearing that Ski Gull was looking for a snowmobile.
Police recorded 121 incidents from Oct. 22 to Nov. 25, including 73 traffic-related incidents and 48 miscellaneous incidents.
Traffic incidents included 48 warnings and 16 citations, as well as two property damage crashes.
Miscellaneous calls included seven alarms, five medicals, one vehicle fire, 11 public assists, two attempt to locate, one suspicious activity, two theft complaints, one burglary complaint, five disorderly/disturbance complaints and one damage to property.
Lake Shore police assisted Cass County deputies six times.
• The council canvassed general election results in a special meeting Nov. 15.
• Was reminded the council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, a week early in December because of the Christmas holiday.
