Hackensack assisted living facility receives Champion of Care Award
Heartland Hospice recently presented a Champion of Care award to Birchview Gardens Assisted Living facility in Hackensack.
Birchview Gardens received this honor in recognition of its dedication and excellence in care practices and services to residents and families. Birchview Gardens is an active senior community that offers a variety of spacious apartments and services, including partnering with Heartland Hospice when needed.
“Heartland is privileged to work so closely with a community such as Birchview Gardens,” said Heidi Hagen, manager of business development for Heartland Hospice. “The manner in which the staff at Birchview Gardens provides care to residents and families compliments the Heartland experience, meeting residents and families wherever they are at in life’s journey.”
Heartland management presented Birchview with a certificate April 14. Birchview Gardens staff attended were registered nurse Trese Lund, administrator John McElfresh, along with resident care givers, activities director and human resources. The celebration included presentation of the award, a cake and ice cream social and sing-along for residents and staff.
“The staff at Birchview Gardens would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their tireless dedication and passionate services to those in need at Birchview Gardens and around the country. Thank you, Heartland Hospice,” McElfresh said.
Heartland Hospice is part of the HCR ManorCare family, which is composed of centers that are providers of short-term, post-acute services and long-term care.
