Mary Koch and Amy Berquist of Pequot Lakes High School and Darla Kangas and Riana Skogstad of Pine River-Backus High School were named to the All-Park Region Conference team.

Steve Anderson, band leader at Brainerd Community College, is the only known person who can sing Irish tunes in Norwegian.

Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus Road Crew wrestler Cory Swenson ended his high school wrestling career by placing fifth at state.
