Give a child the gift of friendship

Peace. Hope. Joy. Love.

These are not only Christmas words.

When we step away from our hectic schedule and build a relationship with a child, we find peace. The affirming words we offer in friendship give hope. Simply smiling because we appreciate someone brings joy. Standing beside them through thick and thin creates love.

Here’s a sampling of four deserving children from the Kinship Partners’ Lake Country Office waiting to experience these feelings.

Chelsey is an active fifth-grader who wants to fish, ride horses, ski and be outdoors.

Peyton is a sweet sixth-grader with a list of interests a mile long. Crocheting, swimming and music are just a few.

Alec is a fourth-grader with a big heart who needs a nudge to try new experiences. He would love to spend time around the bonfire or try fishing.

Addy is a third-grade pixie who delights in everything. Board games, crafts and trips to the library will bring a smile.

Give yourself and a child in our community the gift of friendship this Christmas. Be a mentor.

Kinship Partners serves families in Crow Wing and southern Cass counties and the Staples/Motley area by providing positive role models to youth ages 5 to 14. Offices are located in Pequot Lakes, Brainerd, Crosby and Staples.
