Grace United in Pequot to celebrate Advent season

Grace United Methodist Church of Pequot Lakes welcomes residents to its Advent season worship services at 9 a.m. Sundays.

Pastor Dianne Ciesluk will be basing her Advent and Christmas Eve sermons on the book, “Finding Bethlehem in the Midst of Bedlam,” by James Moore.

Bedlam in all its shapes and forms is unavoidable, whether it is the bedlam of daily busyness or the bedlam of traumatic events. We can find Bethlehem in the midst of bedlam when we discover the freedom, hope, peace, love, life and salvation given to us through Jesus Christ.

On Sunday, Dec. 15, the sermon title is “Love Came Down at Christmas.” The Grace Bell Choir will present prelude music at 8:40 a.m. in the sanctuary.

On Dec. 22, the sermon title will be “The Precious Memories of Christmas.” Sunday school children will sing during the service.

A time of coffee and goodies follows each service. Nursery is provided.

Grace UMC will celebrate Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, as luminarias light the way to a candlelight worship service to welcome the baby in the manger, Jesus. There will be scripture readings and music. Ciesluk will preach on “Mind the Light.”

Grace UMC is 1.7 miles south of the lights in Pequot Lakes on Highway 371. For more information, go to or call 218-568-5755.
