Library to be closed Thanksgiving weekend

The Pequot Lakes Library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day as well as Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29 and 30, because the library’s software provider will be updating its customers’ software on those days.

So be sure to come in before then to get the books and movies you’d like over the Thanksgiving weekend. We’re sorry for this inconvenience.

Library to sponsor photography workshop

We’re very fortunate to have a professional photographer from Pequot Lakes give a photography workshop at the library. Scott Pederson will be here Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. to give pointers to those who have questions about their cameras or how to use them.

This is a hands-on program, so bring your cameras, lenses and questions. Pederson calls his workshop “Other than Auto” because he wants you to feel more at ease than ever to flip your camera’s shooting mode to “Manual.” The workshop is for both beginners and the more experienced photographer.

Mrs. Claus to visit library Saturday, Dec. 14

Is it that time of year already?! I guess so, because Mrs. Claus will be here next month to spend some time at the library. She’ll be jingling her way in here on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. And guess who’s coming with her? Yes, Santa, himself.

There will be lots of activities and treats, and each child will receive a free book.

Exhibits to be up until the end of January

Our artistic exhibit designer will be arranging some exhibits appropriate to the months of December and January. Look for: “Hot Reads for Cold Nights” and “Winter in the Northwoods.”

Thank you

As always, thanks to all our daily library volunteers. You’re over-the-top! If anyone reading this would like to start volunteering, come in or call us and we’ll have our volunteer coordinator contact you.
