Medical benefit Nov. 2

A spaghetti dinner with silent auction to benefit a Pine River couple’s great-granddaughter will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Park Rapids American Legion.

On Sept. 1, Landon, the son of Ashley Carlson and Chris Meckle, was born three months premature, weighing only 2 pounds, 5 ounces with his bladder outside his body. He is being cared for at the Stanford Children’s Hospital NICU in Fargo, N.D. He will be in NICU for several months and then transferred to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis where he will undergo his first of many surgeries.

Proceeds from the benefit will help with medical costs and other expenses.

Carlson is the granddaughter of Ron and Barb Carlson of Pine River.
