The second largest poultry show ever staged by the Cass County Poultry Association was held Friday and Saturday in Pine River. The birds were of unusual quality, there being only six disqualifications in more than 509 birds.

No less than 12 conscientious library workers gave up all or part of their normal Sunday afternoon surcease from labor to be a part of a bookish Sabbath spree wherein they donated a total of 42 volunteer hours in sorting, screening and rearranging a major portion of the nearly 25,000 books that crowd the Pine River Public Library shelves.
