During the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, 1963, the North American continent will be covered by a ecnlipse(mistake in actual archive) of the sun. The last total eclipse in 1954 was visible only in Minnesota.

The Pine River Chamber of Commerce at their Tuesday meeting here voted to send a resolution to Gov. Rudy Perpich, opposing the draw-down of water from the lakes in the area.

Thirty-five acres of burned pine and lowlands were the result of a fire that is believed to have began Tuesday night (July 12th) in the Cranberry Lake area six miles southeast of Longville.

Backus council member Charles Dufour presented a request from seven city residents to close their street to through traffic. The residents live on Lillian Boulevard.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
