CL-FL Legion hosts Flag Day ceremony

The Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Post 500 and Auxiliary hosted a Flag Day program Friday, June 14, outside of the Legion club in Crosslake.

Commander Joe Wiltsey presided as flags were presented and deemed unserviceable.

After a short program, Legion members disposed of nearly 300 flags that had been dropped at the Legion club through the year.

Flag Day was established to honor the anniversary of the adoption on June 14, 1777, of the original Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.
