Free seminar on joint pain offered June 18 in Crosslake

The Arthritis Foundation wants to help educate the residents of Crosslake and surrounding communities with the “What is my joint pain telling me?” free educational seminar from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Crosslake Community Center.

The foundation has partnered with local experts from Essentia Health and Northern Orthopedics to share information on warning signs and treatment options. Topics include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and surgical and non-surgical treatment options by local experts, including orthopedic surgeon Dr. Paul Thompson of Northern Orthopedics, Ltd; and rheumatologist Dr. Frank Vasey of the Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic.

Participants will also learn stretching activities they can do at home from physical therapist Mike Steichen from the Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Baxter Clinic.

Everyone will have an opportunity to ask the experts questions, as well as have light appetizers and beverages.

Registration is requested by calling the Arthritis Foundation at 651-644-4108 or 800-333-1380, ext. 112.
