UCC book group

to meet June 10

Louise Erdrich’s book “The Round House” will be discussed at the Union Congregational Church Monday Morning Book Group in Hackensack beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 10.

“The Round House” tells the story of a woman living on a reservation in North Dakota who is attacked one Sunday in the spring of 1988. The details of the crime are slow to surface as Geraldine Coutts is traumatized and reluctant to relive or reveal what happened, either to the police or to her husband, Bazil, and 13-year-old son, Joe. In one day, Joe’s life is irrevocably transformed.

Join the discussion of this National Book Award winning novel with its powerful portrayal of Joe’s coming-to-age experience as well the impact on his family and the reservation community.
