Larson will present how to perform conventional CPR, but will focus on hands-only CPR for bystanders.

The Brainerd Lakes Heart & Vascular Center at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd has the goal of improving outcomes for sudden cardiac arrest patients by deploying AEDs (automated external defibrillators) and providing CPR training throughout the community through the Take Heart program.

The most important treatment for a sudden cardiac arrest victim is immediate CPR and AED implementation. If both of these are performed within the first few minutes of the cardiac arrest, the patient will have a chance at a much more positive outcome.

This training session is not a certification course. To register, call the Northland Arboretum at 218-829-8770 or email arboretum@brainerd.net.
