Breezy Point women learn about emergency response

Tom Nelson, Pequot Lakes fire chief, and Jason Reiber, Breezy Point police officer and first responder, delivered an interesting and informative talk Wednesday, April 3, to the Breezy Point Area Women’s Club at the Pelican Lakes Conservation Club, Breezy Point.

Area residents owe their appreciation and, sometimes literally, their lives to the personal dedication and extensive training of these organizations.

JoAnn Weaver, Breezy Point mayor, also outlined a Day of Caring event that will take place Thursday, May 9, in all communities represented by Pequot Lakes High School. The Day of Caring event is a major effort by students, teachers and community volunteers.

Details are outlined in a story on page 1 of this week’s Lake Country Echo.
