Family Center happenings in April

A Parent’s Tool-kit: A Parent’s Toolkit is a parent education program that offers parents a variety of ways to provide guidance, nurturing and discipline techniques for preschool and elementary age children. Parents, foster parents or grandparents will find this series useful and practical. In order to accommodate busy families, the Family Center provides a light supper and child care. A class is ready to begin soon. Contact Karen for more information.

Hidden Jewels Thrift Store: Drop off donations at Hidden Jewels from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, or call Brenda at 587-4292. Volunteers are always needed, so if you can spend an hour or two helping in Hidden Jewels your time is appreciated.

The Family Center’s Home Visiting Program has immediate openings for first-time expectant parents who would like some help with understanding pregnancy and supporting your child’s development. Home visits are free, confidential and last through your child’s third birthday.

Family Center Governing Board: The Family Council is a group of people from the Pine River-Backus area who are concerned about the welfare of children and families. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Family Center, join us at our next board meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 18 and find out more about how to become a Family Center board member.

MAC/NAPS: Pick up is April 9 from 2-4 p.m.
