The Jenkins Booster Club will celebrate its first anniversary at a meeting Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall, formerly the Grange Hall.

The write-in candidate, Bill McGee, was voted in and confirmed by recount as the new supervisor on the Sibley Township Board. The tally after election showed McGee with 44 votes and incumbent Harris Tweed with 43 votes.

Winners of the six door prizes awarded at Sunday’s free pancake breakfast at the Crosslake Community Center were Libby Andolshek, Dorothy Perkovich, Ruth Severin, Grace Bieber, Ed Perkins and Dodo Fraser.

The Pequot Lakes Indians want to remain the Indians. Students submitted a resolution stating that to the Central Minnesota Association of Student Councils.

The Pine River-Backus Tigers ripped the Pequot Lakes Indians 70-46 in the Subsection IV quarterfinal game at Staples.

Twelve Nisswa students were selected for the 13th annual Elementary Honors Choir project: James McLean, Brittney Wacholz, Taylor Ohotto, Peter Qualey, Luke Gruenhagen, Brent Best, Sam Nelson, Samantha Bak, Emmy Tuomi, Taylor Headlee, Alissa St. John and Kyle Nichols.

Pequot Lakes basketball player Luke Schramm scored his 1,000th career point in the quarterfinal round of the Section 7 Class 2A playoffs in a 55-52 win over the Crosby-Ironton Rangers.
