A “Return Pete to the Pickle” petition was circulated when a new Nisswa city personnel policy prohibited popular bartender Pete Wallin from working part time at the municipal liquor establishment after he became the city’s full-time road and maintenance superintendent.

Angie Evenson broke the single-game scoring record in basketball with 39 points for the Pequot Lakes Indians. Last week she reached 1,000 career points.

(photo) Ship models dwarf Whitefish Lake resident Tim Leagjeld in his living room. Over the last two years, Leagjeld has constructed seven massive ship models entirely from supplies he’s purchased locally.

Crosslake Community School spelling bee winners were Alexis Hansen, third grade, first; Kassi Owens, fifth grade, second; and Jonah Lazerine, third grade, third.
