Email

Everyone enjoys the fun of gathering with friends and family during the holidays. Although spread across Cass County, the Faith in Action family of volunteers is no exception.

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, a group of 15 Faith in Action volunteers and staff met at Jimmy’s Restaurant in Walker to eat, visit and share holiday stories.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, at JR’s BBQ in Pine River, more than a dozen Faith in Action folks met for holiday feasting with musical accompaniment by the Burns family and the Cook-Plattes family, with guitar, violin and singing. Volunteers shared plans for the holidays and stories of recent volunteer experiences.

Christmas often brings out the caring and giving nature in each of us, the part that makes Faith in Action for Cass County an active part of our communities.

If you would like to share your caring and giving nature with others, volunteers are needed throughout Cass County to help folks with neighborly assistance, including friendly visits and meal delivery. New volunteers are also needed to provide transportation to appointments and help with grocery shopping.

Consider contacting Faith in Action to see if there is a volunteer position that would match your gifts, talents and time. Volunteer trainings are being scheduled right after the holidays.

Denton (Denny) Newman Jr.
I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
