MNsure assistance to be offered weekly during January at Crow Wing County Community Services
Certified MNsure Navigators will be available at Crow Wing County Community Services to assist the public in accessing health care through the MNsure website each Wednesday in January. MNsure is Minnesota’s insurance exchange.
Tri-County Community Action Navigators will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Jan. 22 and 29. No appointment is necessary. They will be located on the first floor of community services.
The online marketplace was established as part of the federal Affordable Care Act to help provide affordable health insurance coverage. Applicants should bring the Social Security numbers and dates of birth for everyone applying for coverage, including children.
Certified navigators are formally contracted partners with MNsure and can assist individuals and families with the process of applying and enrolling. They are not insurance agents or brokers.
Those individuals already on Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare do not need to meet with a navigator at this point. The county and the state will handle the conversion on those cases.
The navigators will be able to assist people without insurance or those who wish to find insurance before the end of the enrollment period of March 31. The consultation is free of charge and available to all residents of Crow Wing County regardless of income. “If the public finds this helpful, we will continue to coordinate with the navigators to offer this service at community services,” said Luke Simonett, employment and economic services division manager.
Navigators also welcome calls and appointments at their respective locations, according to Simonett. A list of certified navigators in Crow Wing County includes:
