Construction work at the intersection of Highway 371 and County Road 77 has been generating a lot of curiosity lately — Viking Waterslide is the latest in Nisswa area summer attractions.

Winners in the third annual Dam Run at Crosslake were Mike Stone in the 2K with a time of 7:10 and Kelly Frazier in the 10K with a time of 31:29.

The 1993 fishing opener featured cold weather and steady winds when Cragun’s on Gull Lake hosted the event and Gov. Arne Carlson.

Crosslake police chief John Backdahl received a commendation and plaque from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Crosslake Dam and Recreation Area for his many years of cooperation and public assistance in the management of the recreation area.

At the Mid-State Conference boys’ golf meet at Cuyuna Country Club, Dan Albertson earned All-Mid-State honors by finishing seventh overall with a round of 81.
