May is Lyme Awareness Month

Gov. Mark Dayton has declared the month of May as Lyme Awareness Month.

Crow Wing is one of the counties most in danger of the mighty tiny tick, so people need to promote prevention and what needs to happen after being bitten.

A local Lyme support meeting is held at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Trailside Center in Pequot Lakes. This next meeting May 9 will be about an unconventional way of prevention and, hopefully, curing Lyme. Gene Lund from Bemidji will share his knowledge of the “Rife Machine.”

Lund also makes them to sell to those who are interested in this method of controlling the Lyme bacteria and its co-infections.

Because of the awareness month the group will give away Lyme disease awareness ribbons to remind everyone of Lyme disease.

The group also has Lyme awareness garden flags (12 by 18 1/2 inches) for sale for $8 plus shipping. Contact Judy Dwire at 218-543-4945 if interested.

Meetings are free and open to the public and everyone is welcome.
