The annual Pine River Parade of Lights Day will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, in Pine River, with the parade theme “Plaid On Parade,” playing off Pine River’s new theme, “Plaid On Purpose.”

Following is a schedule of events:

11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Wagon rides provided by Action Entertainment’s Doug Taylor with pickup and dropoff points at Gardiner’s Hardware Store and the Pine River American Legion.

Noon-2 p.m.: Lunch With Santa at the Pine River American Legion with prizes and goodies for the kids.

5 p.m.: The annual Parade of Lights with lineup at First Lutheran Church in Pine River. No pre-registration is necessary. The theme this year is “Plaid On Parade” with the hope that the float units will reflect the proud lumberjack/outdoor traditions that were and are Pine River. Two $100 Chamber gift certificates will be awarded, one for the Best Use Of Theme and the other for Best Overall Use Of Lights.

After the parade: The Pine River Chamber will host its annual Christmas Open House at the Information Center with a bonfire, free Christmas cookies, hot cider, hot chocolate and coffee. There will also be snacks offered for sale by a local organization.

6:25 p.m.: Fireworks will cap off the festivities. A drive to secure funds for the fireworks is under way and donations can be dropped off at the Pine River Chamber.

For more information, call the chamber at 218-587-4000.
