Pine River United Methodist Church to host children's shop day Dec. 7

Pine River United Methodist Church will host a Community Children’s Shopping Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, where parents and other adults are treated to hot apple cider and holiday treats while their children get the chance to purchase gifts for them in a separate room.

Also, First Lutheran Church will host a Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. to noon, and The Pine River Legion will hold an Art, Craft and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7.

The children’s shopping event is open to children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. All items the children buy cost only $1 and volunteers wrap them for free.

Church members donate the items on sale.

Funds raised are donated back toward groups and charities that benefit children, including The Warehouse in Pine River and Pine River-Backus School.
