PTA sponsors family fun run to promote health, wellness

More than 130 people participated in the third annual Patriot Family Fun Run, sponsored by the Pequot Lakes Schools PTA, on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Eagle View Elementary School.

Seventy runners and walkers finished the 2K, with Dillon Meyer, a ninth-grader, placing first in 08:30.

And 62 people crossed the 5K finish line, with Chris Hanson narrowly edging out Kirk Larson for first. Their times were 20:08.6 and 20:08.8. Larson snuck up from behind to force a sprint to the finish line in front of Eagle View Elementary School.

All proceeds from the event go to Pequot Lakes Schools PTA health and wellness initiatives.

2K: Dillon Meyer, 08:30; Noah Crowley, 09:56; Kal Larsen, 09:57; Charlie Schiessl, 10:10; and Charity Meyer, 10:11.

5K: Chris Hanson, 20:08.6; Kirk Larson, 20:08.8; Luda Hdamsen, 20:56.20; Dylin Ackerman, 22:01.30; and Liz Larson, 22:04.
