Crow Wing County 4-H horse show results listed

The 4-H horse shows were held at the Crow Wing County Fair in Brainerd on Tuesday, July 30, for Pleasure and on Wednesday, July 31, for Games with Rae Ann Bartz as judge for both days of the show.

4-H members in the area who received Grand Champion (GC) and Reserve Champion (RC) awards are:

Horse Achievement: Level 2 RC, Shania Robinson; Level 3 GC, Lillian Landis, and RC, Robinson.

Halter Showmanship: Grades 9+, Lydia Larson won GC and Alexis Visser won RC; grades 6-8, Landis won GC and Sheridan Wilson won RC.

English Equitation: Grades 9+ GC, Robinson; grades 6-8 GC, Samantha Beach.

English Pleasure Hunts Seat: Grades 6-8 GC, Beach, and RC, Lauren Crabtree.

Western Horsemanship: Grades 9+ GC, Danielle Palmer; grades 6-8 GC, Beach, and RC, Wilson; pony classes RC, Lauren Crabtree.

Western Pleasure/Stock Type: Grades 9+ GC, Palmer, and RC, Larson; grades 6-8 RC, Wilson; Pony Class RC, Landis.

Western Pleasure/Pleasure Type: Grades 9+ RC, Robinson; Pony Class GC, Crabtree.

Trail Class: Grades 6+ GC, Palmer, and RC, Samantha Meier.

Wednesday’s Games Show: Grade 9+ Pole Weaving GC, Visser; grades 6-8 RC, Lillian Landis.

Key Race: Grade 9+ GC, Visser; grades 6-8 GC, Beach, and RC, Maddie Atwater.

Jumping Figure 8: Grades 9+ GC, Meier; grades 6-8 GC, Landis, and RC, Alexandra Keating.

Cloverbuds who participated in Barrels, Key Race and Pole Weaving games were Samina Crabtree, Kallie Ryappy and Sophia Satterfield. They also participated in Halter Showmanship and Lead line for Western Horsemanship.

In non-qualifying games, the Flying W RC went to Meier.

Winning trips to the Minnesota State Horse Show on Sept. 13-16 with the highest total points in the shows were Landis, Rylee Minten, Beach, Meier, Wilson, Palmer, Tyler Blazek and Lataya Goedderz.

Visser will represent Crow Wing County as a finalist for the Dan Patch Leadership Award.
