DNR Boat and Water Safety classes offered in area
Six DNR Boat and Water Safety classes will be held in the lakes area in June.
All classes will begin with classroom from 8:30 a.m. to noon. After a pizza lunch, students will then do the operator’s portion of the class on the water. Sheriff and DNR boats will be used. Class will finish between 2-3 p.m.
Successful students will receive their Watercraft Operator’s Permit. Students must be at least 12 years old. Class limit is 20.
Classes are free.
Youth cannot operate a Jet Ski (personal watercraft) alone unless they are between ages 13 and 17 and have a watercraft operator’s permit.
The following classes will be held.
Wednesdays, June 5 and 19 in the Breezy Point Public Safety Building (police station).
PFDs will be provided to each student compliments of the Pelican Lake Conservation Club. A pizza lunch from Commander will be provided by the Pelican Lakes Property Owners Association.

Tuesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 27 at Zorbaz on Gull.
PFDs will be provided to each student compliments of the Gull Chain of Lakes Association. Zorbaz on Gull will provide a pizza lunch.
