High winds and cold temperatures didn’t keep about 60 shooters from venturing to the Lakeshore Conservation Club on Saturday, May 11, to learn more about shooting trap.

The club hosted its annual Teach a Kid to Shoot event, where youth and women learn how to shoot for free. Lunch was served for free as well, courtesy of Cub Foods and Supervalu.

The fifth annual Brainerd Lakes Area Outdoor Youth Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the range.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
