Vote for favorite artwork in Hackensack park

The Hackensack Sculpture Park recently was installed, displaying the works of five artists.

On June 1, a meet-and-greet outdoor reception was held in their honor, sponsored by the Northwoods Arts Council. These sculptures will be displayed in the Hackensack City Park and along the Paul Bunyan Trail through Labor Day weekend.

Visitors to the park are encouraged to vote for their favorite piece of art. Ballots are available in two designated spots: a ballot box near the trailside, close to the boat ramp; and inside the Hackensack Chamber Building.

The winning artist will receive a cash prize awarded Labor Day weekend.

A list of the artists featured in the Hackensack Sculpture Park and their work art include: “Tool Shed” by Al Belleveau of Bemidji; “El Toro” by Chris Gustafson of Watkins; “Fertile Flight” and “Stegomorph,” both by Tim Cassidy of New York Mills; and “Large Mouth Bass” by Andy Arend of Rochester.
