Nominations will be accepted for artists working in any artistic discipline, including but not limited to: visual arts (two and three dimensional), music, dance, writing, theater, film and media.

Anyone can nominate an artist for this distinction, which provides a $10,000 award, an original, hand-crafted medallion and livery collar of distinction created by a Region Five artist, public recognition through video and online promotional presence, professional assistance with marketing materials and more.

To be eligible for consideration, nominees must have lived in Region Five for at least five years and not be currently enrolled in any degree-seeking program at any educational level, nor be a previous Five Wings Arts Council Master Artist Award recipient.

Selection criteria includes an evaluation of the artist’s lifetime body of work, which must represent an investigation and maturation of their personal creativity, must demonstrate a high aesthetic level of artistic ability, with a strong consistency of expression over the course of his/her career.

The Master Artist selection must also have made a significant impact on the region, state or nation as demonstrated by respect of peers and community, contributions to excellence and public appreciation of the art form through teaching, preserving and/or advocacy.

Nominators are asked to complete a nomination form, provide the artists bio/resume with artist’s statement, 5-10 work samples, and documentation of the artist’s impact upon the community, region, state and/or nation.

Nominations are being accepted online at the Five Wings Grant Site, which can be accessed through www.fwac.org. A copy may also be obtained by downloading it from the Five Wings Arts Council website’s Master Artist Award link.
