Barbara Jean to perform May 2 in Nisswa
Barbara Jean, a songstress, will make her series debut on the Grassroots Concerts stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Live Well Nightclub and Coffee Bar in Nisswa, in the Journey Church building on County Road 18.
Barbara Jean grew up immersed in a world of music and sound, honing an early gift for the violin and a musical legacy passed from grandmother to mother to daughter into a sharp ear for songwriting and a skilled hand as a multi-instrumentalist.
Her career milestones include: Big Top Chautauqua Songwriting Champion 2011; honorable mention 2012 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest; and fall 2012 performance on National Public Radio’s Mountain Stage radio program.
Her debut record is “The Great Escape.”

Admission for general seating at all concerts is $10 at the door for adults and $5 for children under 12 with listening attention, when accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The concert series welcomes a nonperishable food or cash donation to a local food shelf.
