PL Library Column: Cabin Fever? Visit your library
This has GOT to be the best time of year to learn a new craft or to get excited about gardening. You’d be so happy to see that our library abounds with both. If you’ve never visited us, please come in and see what we have to offer to fight off cabin fever!
If not craft or gardening books, how about some good thrillers or newly released novels? We’ve got it all. And it’s all for you.
Free tax help available
Every Thursday in March as needed, the Pequot Lakes Library is again hosting AARP Tax-Aide help. Tax experts will be available from noon to 4 p.m.
Appointments for the 45-minute sessions are necessary and may be made by signing up at the library or by calling 568-6181.
This free service is aimed at seniors, young families and those with low to middle incomes.
Thank you volunteers
What would we do without you?
Special thanks this month to Terri Grimes and her committee members who planned and executed so wonderfully the “Winter Olympics at the Library,” a special kids’ and dads’ program; and to Lydia Loven for planning and presenting the Steven Weagel Art Reception.
Both events were successful and add to the cultural life of Pequot Lakes.
Quote for the month
“I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.” — Roald Dahl
