'A Place at the Table' to be shown in Pine River

“A Place at the Table” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at The Warehouse in Pine River, sponsored by the Pine River-Backus Family Center and the Pine River Area Food Shelf.

The movie addresses the country’s hunger crisis, but it also speaks to larger hungers — hunger for independence, a dignified life, a better chance for one’s children. It tells the powerful stories of three Americans who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. “A Place at the Table” shows how the issue could be solved, once the American public decides that ending hunger is in the best interests of everyone.
