Auditions for 'Oliver!' announced

The Pequot Lakes Community Theater (PLCT) will host auditions Sept. 9 and 10 for the fall musical production "Oliver!," which is based on the book "Oliver Twist" written by Charles Dickens.

The PLCT production is licensed by arrangement with Oliver Productions, Ltd. and Oliver Promotions Ltd.

Musical numbers in the production include “Food, Glorious Food,” “I’d Do Anything,” “Where Is Love?,” “Consider Yourself,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Who Will Buy” and “Reviewing the Situation.”

There are a variety of roles in the "Oliver!" production. Orphan roles will be for students ages 10 to 15. Orphan auditions will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.

For the audition, students are requested to practice the portion of “Where is Love?” that is found on the back of the audition notice sheet. The audition sheet is available in the Pequot Lakes Community Education office. Students may check the YouTube website for help with the audition music. The audition sheet is the first four lines of the song.

Adult auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium. Adults will be asked to prepare a song for the audition.

Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings with an occasional Saturday rehearsal.

Performance dates for the show are Nov. 15-17 and 22-24.

Gary Hirsch is the director for the production.
