The annual Pine River Summerfest celebration and the 108th Cass County Fair both offer a variety of events for everyone. Their common theme, “Heritage past, Let’s make it last” ties to the deep railroad history of the area. Thursday, June 27

8 a.m.-Noon Open Class Exhibit Judging.

Noon-9 p.m. Exhibit & Commercial Buildings Open.

4 p.m Carnival Rides Open at the Fair.

6-10 p.m. Armband Hours for Magel Carnival Rides: $20 in Advance, $25 at Fair.

7 p.m. Pig Races Family Grand Stand Event.

Friday, June 28

Noon-10 p.m. Exhibit & Commercial Buildings Open.

1 p.m. Cass County & UCare Senior Senior Recognition and Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards.

Noon Carnival Rides open at the Fair.

11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Pine River Good Samaritan Community Picnic at Riverside Apartments. Free pork sandwiches, baked beans & root beer floats! Live music & pontoon rides!

1-5 p.m. Armband Hours for Magel Carnival Rides: $20 in Advance, $25 at Fair.

5:30 p.m. 2013 Cass County Fair Talent Contest.

3-6 p.m. Antique Tractor Show.

7 p.m. Prairie Fire Children’s Theater “Wizard of Oz” at PR-B High School Performance Gym.

7 p.m. Truck & Tractor Pull at the Cass County Fair Grand Stands.

8 p.m. Midnight Whiskey Richards Band at Cass County Fairgrounds.

Saturday, June 29

Summerfest Softball Tourney at fields East of Pine River on Co. Rd. 1 Call 218-839-0029 to enter or for questions.

8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Annual Classic Car Show & Tractor Show Sponsored by Pine River State Bank.

9-11 a.m. Farm Bureau Breakfast (Farm Prices).

10 a.m.-10 p.m. Exhibit & Commercial Buildings Open.

10 a.m. Prairie Fire Children’s Theater “Wizard of Oz” at PR-B High School Performance Gym.

Noon Carnival Rides open at the Fair.

12:30 p.m. Parade Line Up in the Pine River-Backus School parking lot.

2 p.m. Summerfest parade.

1-5 p.m. Armband Hours for Magel Carnival Rides $20 in Advance, $25 at Fair.

11 a.m.-3 p.m. Bluegrass Music by “Tim & Cindy” beside the Food Fest on the Pine River with a break for parade at 2 p.m.

12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Magic Show with Brian Richards at the Dam!

4:30 p.m. Baja Pitts Open (Rider meeting 6:30).

5 p.m. Youth Livestock Auction Buyers Dinner.

6 p.m. Youth Livestock Auction (Arena).

7 p.m. Baja Rally Grand Stand Races.

Sunday, June 30

8:30 a.m. Summerfest Softball Tourney Finals on Co. Rd 1, east of Pine River.

9 a.m. Summerfest 5K Fun Run & Baby Ox Kids Run.

Noon Iron Chef Cookoff.

Noon 4-H Livestock Extravaganza.

Noon-Close Magel Carnival Amusement Rides.

12:30 p.m. Family Ag Olympics (Open to all!).

1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Leech Lake Drum & Dance Performance.

2:30 p.m. Fashion Revue (Don Smith Building).

2:30 p.m. 4-H Animal Science Awards.

4 p.m. 4-H Non-Animal Awards Ceremony.
