Night Under the Stars at Camp Knutson celebrates 60th anniversary

Camp Knutson has been serving children with special needs for 60 years.

The annual Night Under the Stars fundraiser on Saturday, July 20, will feature a gourmet dinner prepared by Prairie Bay, silent and live auction, and this year a wall of wine for guests to purchase a choice of wines for $20. The label will be a mystery and the value could be higher than $50.

The silent auction will run from 5-6:45 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.

Tickets for dinner start at $75 per person. Silent auction and wine bar-only tickets are $25 per person. Tickets are available online at, click on “Night Under the Stars,” or call Sharon at 218-692-1142.

Camp Knutson is on the point between Trout and Lower Whitefish lakes. The camp serves children from Minnesota and around the country who have autism, severe skin disorders, heart problems or Down’s syndrome. Many volunteers support the camp donating time and talents by helping with maintenance, working with campers, gardening, fundraising and housekeeping.

The Night Under the Stars fundraiser helps provide financial resources to support camp scholarships, horseback riding, swimming and jewelry making and many other camp activities.

Donations may also be made to Camp Knutson directly and you may designate which camp service to support.
