Nisswa-stämman Scandinavian Folk Music Festival announces the musician lineup for the 14th annual festival taking place Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8, in Nisswa.
Visiting musicians are all international prize winners, including Harald Haugaard and Helene Blum, fiddler and singer from Denmark; Marie Skavnes and Lars Berg, Norway’s top prize-winning fiddler in the national 2012 competition, who will team up with an accordion player; Polka Chicks, Finland duo on fiddle and accordion who performed at Nisswa-stämman in 2010; Bjärv duo, “fiddler of the realm” prize-winning fiddlers from Sweden; and Mette Jensen and Kristian Bugge, who will return to Nisswa-stämman and who won this year’s Danish Grammy for best traditional music.
Rounding out the list of 150 performing musicians are a multitude of Minnesota artists, and some from as far as Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
