The second annual Run for Hope will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. The theme is "Ready, Set, Glow!" and the event is a night glow run.
Registration and family friendly activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the run starting at 8:30 p.m. The event will conclude with a dance party hosted by a live DJ.
Register for the 5K or the kids one-half mile runatwww.bridgesofhopemn.org. Cost to run the 5K is $30. Registration includes race participation, T-shirt, commemorative race bib, a glow item and entrance to the post-race dance party.
Prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams with the most creative glow attire.
Children 12 and under who wish to participate in the one-half mile fun run can register at no charge through the event website. An optional kids packet is available for $10 and includes a T-shirt, glow item and entrance to the dance party.
Spectators are encouraged to attend for a $2 fee, which includes a glow item, participation in free activities and entrance to the dance party with a DJ.
All proceeds from the event benefit those served through Bridges of Hope's programs, which served nearly 3,000 households in Crow Wing County and surrounding communities in 2013. Bridges of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that has been serving the lakes area for 12 years.
