Crosslake Area Library to host book sale Thursday-Saturday
The Crosslake Area Library's 15th annual book sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, July 31-Aug. 2, at the Crosslake Community Center.
This large sale features thousands of nearly new books and audio-visual materials at bargain prices. All materials are well organized and clearly labeled, making it easy to browse. New materials are added daily, making each day a fresh shopping experience. All proceeds are used to support the library.
The 33rd annual Crosslake Dam Run 5K and 10K will be run at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, starting and ending at Crosslake Town Square.
Both the 5K and 10K are certified courses and will be chip timed by Pickle Events.
The starting and registration areas are on Swann Drive at Crosslake Town Square.

The third annual Save Your Classic Rod car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Breezy Point Hockey Center, rain or shine.
All proceeds support the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The show will celebrate the Mustang's 50th year of production. Awards will be given. Food and beverages will be available.
Admission is $3 for spectators, or two adults for $5, and free for children under 12.
Cupcake Wars set Saturday at The Warehouse
The Pine River Public Library will host its second annual Cupcake Wars from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at The Warehouse in Pine River.
Those who attend will be the judges by buying voting tickets at the door for 25 cents each. Tickets can be used to taste cupcakes as well as to vote for the best display based on appearance. People can vote as many times as they want.
All funds raised go to the library to update computers.
Pequot Lakes All-Class Reunion is Sunday
Pequot Lakes' All-Class Reunion will be Sunday, Aug. 3, at the high school, beginning at noon with registration and time for socializing.
A brief business meeting will be held, followed by a potluck luncheon. Those who attend are asked to bring salads, hot dishes and desserts. All utensils will be furnished along with meats, cheese, buns and beverages.
The 50-year class (1964) will be honored at the luncheon.
Events on Saturday, Aug. 2, include individual class reunions and an informal gathering that evening at the American Legion Club.
National Night Out set Tuesday in Hackensack
The third annual Hackensack National Night Out is scheduled from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5.
There will be prizes and games for children of all ages, plus food and drinks.
