The annual meeting of the Pine River Watershed Alliance (PRWA) will be held as a two-part meeting.
The business portion of the meeting will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Ideal Community Center.
The second portion will present Value Survey results from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at The Warehouse in Pine River. Those results are from the Watershed Restoration and Protection (WRAP) meeting that was held April 26.
The June 17 meeting will cover financial reports, nomination and election of directors, new and old business, and a recap of the actions of the PRWA board over the last year. The monthly board meeting will follow. All are welcome.
The June 21 meeting will start with a presentation of the citizen Value Survey. This is a long-term effort by the PRWA and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in a Watershed Evaluation and Management Process.
The process evaluates all 81 watersheds in the state and develops plans for restoration and protection. Each watershed process takes 10 years. The first two years are an assessment of the health of the watershed that has now been completed for the Pine River Watershed. The next phase started at the April 26 meeting when local citizens participated in a Value Survey and a Priority Mapping session.
