Nisswa Legion sweeps Bemidji
The Nisswa Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader at Bemidji by scores of 7-4 and 23-4 on Monday, June 30.
In the opener, Nisswa's T.J. Graumann had two hits, including a solo homer, and drove in three runs while Taylor Streiff drove in two runs. Graumann was also the winning pitcher, allowing just three hits and striking out five.
In the second game, Nate DeChaine drove in six runs and had two triples, Andy Mau drove in five runs and had three hits, Matt Casperson had three hits and 3 RBI, and Clark Hickman had two hits for Nisswa. Troy Miller, who struck out five, was the winning pitcher.
Nisswa sweeps Grand Rapids
On Wednesday, June 25, Nisswa swept Grand Rapids by scores of 6-5 and 2-1. In the opener, Graumann was the winning pitcher while Drew Sannes doubled twice and Streiff and Logan Jones each drove in a run for Nisswa, which enjoyed a 10-5 edge in hits.
In the second game, Clark Hickman drove in two runs while Miller struck out five to earn the win in relief of Nate DeChaine, who pitched the first six innings and struck out seven. Nisswa enjoyed a 6-2 edge in hits.
Nisswa, 6-0-1 overall, was scheduled to host Waite Park on Tuesday, July 1.
