Manhattan Beach city council allows gambling at Manhattan Beach Lodge

The Manhattan Beach City Council agreed at its July meeting to allow lawful gambling at Manhattan Beach Lodge.

The approval came at the request of the Northern Lakes Youth Hockey Association, who requested that the organization be allowed to hold lawful gambling on site.

In other business, council member Clyde Brodt said he had inspected the city's roads, indicating that Goldenstein Road was in need of trimming and grading. He said Northgate Lane needs to be overlaid which, he suggested, should be done at the same time as the city hall parking lot - another project under consideration - in an attempt to save costs.

Council members questioned whether Fifty Lakes would be willing to overlay its portion of the road. Brodt said he would ask that city council if it had interest in doing so and would bring it back to the council at its next meeting.
