One of the “most beautiful drives in the state” is deteriorating, and Nisswa Mayor Dennis Lueck is attempting to reverse that trend with tighter county zoning between Brainerd and Pequot Lakes.

Gas prices have been a hot topic in the lake country recently. Prices here were $1.14 a gallon, compared to $1.01 in the Twin Cities, $1.07 in Aitkin and $1.17 in Garrison.

Jama Davidson is the new executive secretary of the Pequot Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. She replaces Kathy Trees.
