John David Helstrom, age 30, of Brainerd, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014, due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident. John was born on May 19, 1984 in Brainerd, MN, to Dave and Cindy (Niederer) Helstrom.
John had the biggest heart. He was always thinking of others before himself. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, nephew and devoted friend. Johns family and his faith in the Lord meant the world to him. He will be forever missed and deeply loved by all. John was extremely loved by his nephews and niece, Tristan, Alex and Lizzy. John worked hard, played hard, and helped hard. He would spend every waking moment helping anyone who needed it. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed hunting, motorsports, dirt bikes, four-wheelers and was an avid gun enthusiast. John lived out his childhood dream by becoming a heavy equipment operator. He was most currently working for the Iron Range in Hibbing.

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Shirley Niederer & Margaret and Al Helstrom; Uncle, Tim Manko; cousin, Michelle Lynn Olson.
Funeral Services celebrating Johns life will be on Monday June 16, 2014 at 11AM at Heritage Assembly of God Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 4-7PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BRAINERD CHAPEL and also one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Center Township.
