Golf leagues-June 19, 2014


John Timmersman of East Gull Lake aced the ninth hole at Pine Beach West course at Madden's on Gull Lake on June 10.

Jim Weber aced the 106-yard 11th hole at Crosswoods Golf Couse on June 10 using an 8-iron.

Whitefish Women's 9-Hole

Clarise Skalman won first place with a net score of 17 in Whitefish Women's 9-Hole League action June 11. Game of the day was "Odd Balls," where the scores of holes 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 were added.

Sue Loechler, Barb Wetter and Monica Fetter tied for second with net scores of 18, and Carol Lovro, Nelly Carnahan, Renee Scherman and Vicki Dypwick received third with net scores of 19.

Wetter and Jane Kipling had chip-ins.

Fairways at Howard's Barn Women's League

Carole Brodzinski, Helen Silva and Joanne Eickhoff won in Fairway at Howard's Barn Women's League action June 10. Play of the day was "best poker hand on odd holes."

Eickhoff made the longest putt and Silva was closest to the pin. Marlene Miller reported two chip-ins.

Play of the day June 17 was "tee to green." Winners were Silva, Carol Lieske and Sally Wagner.

Crosswoods Men's League

Dave Branum was Player of the Day with a low net total with 64 at Crosswoods Men's League action on June 12. Branum also carded a 31 for individual low net on the back nine.

Jay Frane had low net honors on the front nine with a 33. Terry Nygaard had longest putt on No. 9, John Antos had longest putt on No. 18, Roger Coult had closest to the pin on No. 4 and Jay Frane had closest to the pin on No. 17.

Placing first on the front nine were Bob Eng, Wayne Henquinet, Roger Weis and Doug Steck while Frane, John Pribyl, Marty Appel and Jerry Bourassa were second on the front. The team of Antos, Ernie Byerly, Ken Olsen and Branum were first on the back nine while Eng, Henquinet, Weiss and Steck were second on the back.

On June 10, Dick Sletten and Jim Weber were players of the day in Crosswoods Men's League action. Sletten had a low net round of 64, while Weber had a hole-in-one on the 11th hole. Jerry Martin had the individual low net on the front nine with 31, and Palmer Sorenson on the back nine with 29. Game of the day was "best balls of 4."

Placing first were the teams of John Sesin, Daryl Anderson, Marty Appel and Jay Wiltrout on the front nine and Dan Davis, Ernie Byerly, Palmer Sorenson and Dale Tracy on the back nine.

Second-place teams were Randy Kraft, Loyal Meech, Dale Stevens and Jerry Bourassa on the front nine, and Sesin, Anderson, Appel and Wiltrout on the back nine.

Byerly and Ed Kellogg were closest to the pin. Meech and Doug Steck had the longest putts.

New members are welcome at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Crosswoods Women's 18-Hole League

Game of the day Wednesday, June 11, was "team low net." Sandy Melberg, Gail Bancroft, Karen Appel and Cheryl Tiggelaar were first place. Ellyn Tracy, Georgi Ashlyn and Pat Oleson received second place.

Roseanne Stans had the low net for the day.

Tuesday Morning Men's League, 8:30 a.m.

First place went to Milt Beyer, John Schallman, Don Atwater and Charlie Peterson. Second place team was Robin Mostrom, Jerry Hagel, Bill Wroblewski, Larry Wickstrom and Tom Walker. Third place went to Milt Spieler, Pat O'Connor, Bob Ecklund and Pete Ziegler.

O'Connor, John LeMire and Roger Brekken were closest to the pin. Wickstrom had the longest putt. Brekken, Ernie Morreim, Jerry Dale and Milt Beyer had chip-ins.

Tuesday Morning Back 9 League, 10:30 a.m.

First place went to Atwater, Beyer and Dick Hubbard. Gary Nelson, Walker and Morreim earned second place.

Wednesday/Thursday Women's Leagues
