Director's Notes: Community support appreciated
As we have started another busy school year, it is important for me to take a moment and send a public message of thanks to the Crosslake community, family and friends of the Crosslake Community School.
This past June, the folks at Moonlite Bay and a host of others helped our school conduct a major fundraiser, "An Evening for Education." This fundraiser has allowed us to purchase new curriculum and equipment for our music, physical education and Title I programs, as well as new technology in the form of Chrome books for our seventh- and eighth-grade classroom, as well as other support materials for our classrooms and school.
In late June, the Crosslake community again supported our school by having an excellent turnout for our first "18 Fore CCS" golf tournament, which raised additional resources for equipment to be used by our students with afterschool enrichment opportunities.
I am utterly amazed, humbled and speechless when I consider the generosity of members of this community toward our school, as well as the support from our parents and the great work of our students, staff and board.
Because of the commitment by so many of you, the Crosslake Community School continues to thrive. Special thanks needs to be extended to so many others who supported us with silent auction items, ticket purchases, donations of time and talent and so much more.
If you drive by our school, you will also see evidence of a commitment on the part of our building ownership to help our school improve and grow. Additional land has been purchased allowing us to expand our playground and recreation area for our students and new carpet, paint and furniture greeted our students in the middle school when they returned.
As if all of this were not enough, we also welcomed several new or returning students this fall into the Crosslake Community High School, a hybrid program where students are actually participating in online learning while attending school on site at our school. We looked forward to the grade level expansion and are excited to have students in all grades K-12.
This is an exciting time for us as we start another year. Consider paying us a visit this school year to see all that we have going on that so many of you have supported.
